Making a Comeback

Well, we made the decision. Late, but it's done.

We started a garden. We had a big garden two years ago and we all loved it. It provided pickles, watermelons, beans, lettuce, tomatoes, zucchini  yellow squash, carrots, cabbage, strawberries, sunflowers, loofas and some potatoes to our family and friends. Then, of course sweet little B. came along last spring and this mama was too involved with her newborn and three other darlings to make a plan and plant a garden. So this year we are making a comeback!

We have peas, beans, peppers (of three varieties), tomatoes, onions, zucchini, pickling cucumbers, climbing cucumbers, watermelons, sunflowers, lettuce, loofas, carrots, dill, and cabbage. Of course we are hoping that it makes enough bounty to can for ourselves and share with others. It has been in the ground for only a few weeks and already we have pretty sturdy sprouts! The girls come running in every morning to give me the report of growth before I can get out there to water! *smile* I am so looking forward to harvesting something! We may just plant some radishes so we can harvest sooner rather than later!

Are you gardening this year? What are you growing?
